Ecommerce website design that keeps the till ringing.

Anyone can open a store on a theme this afternoon. Getting buyers to find it and pay on a phone is the hard part. Our ecommerce website design starts with what your buyers search for, and we draw the checkout before the homepage. New store or tired one, we build it to rank and to track every sale.

What is included

From Google search to paid order, with no wrong turns.

We hold every store we design to these 4 rules, from the first collection to the last checkout field.

  1. We name and group collections after the phrases buyers type, so a search lands on a page that already holds the answer.

    How a build runs
  2. We pick filters from the attributes that actually split your catalogue, and drop the ones nobody uses.

    See the work
  3. Delivery times, returns and payment options sit next to the add to cart button, right where the doubt shows up.

    The proof we show
  4. We design the cart and checkout for one thumb on mobile data, then check it still works on a desktop.

How it runs

From first call to launch, minus the headaches.

You see the page plan before design starts, and the design before we build. So there are no nasty surprises at the end.

Week 1

Discovery

We learn your catalogue, your margins and your customers before we look at a layout. A store is a set of trade-offs about what sells, so we start there.

What we deliver

  • Catalogue and margin review
  • Buyer and competitor teardown
  • Fixed quote with line items
  • Dated build schedule
A business owner laughing during a video strategy call on his laptop, in a light-filled room with a window behind him

Weeks 1 to 2

Store structure

Collections, filters and navigation are mapped from what buyers type. That way every path to a product starts from a question people ask.

What we deliver

  • Collection map from search demand
  • Filter and attribute plan
  • Navigation and mega menu
  • Product page content model
A crowd of people crossing a busy city street, shot from above with their movement blurred

Weeks 3 to 5

Design

Product, collection and cart templates designed on a phone first, with the answers buyers need placed where they hesitate.

What we deliver

  • Product page template
  • Collection and search results
  • Cart and checkout path
  • Contrast measured to AA
Three colleagues around a table of laptops, one standing and gesturing at a screen while the other two look on

Weeks 5 to 8

Build

We build the design on the platform that suits your catalogue. Product schema, shopping feeds and sales tracking are wired in as part of the job.

What we deliver

  • Store templates built
  • Product and offer schema
  • Shopping feed set up
  • Ecommerce analytics events
Blue and lime patch cables plugged into a rack panel and sweeping away in order

Weeks 8 to 9

Launch

We run test orders end to end and redirect every old URL. Then we record the sales funnel baseline the week your store goes live.

What we deliver

  • Test orders on every payment method
  • Redirect map and QA pass
  • Funnel baseline recorded
  • Handover and training

The long read

Where online stores lose the sale (and how we stop it).

Most stores don't lose buyers at the homepage. They lose them in 3 or 4 quiet places further down the path, and good design closes those gaps.

Your collections are a search strategy in disguise

Stores are usually organised the way the stock is. That means by supplier, by range or by whatever the spreadsheet called it.

Buyers don't search that way. They type the material, the use, the size or the room. A collection structure that ignores that is a list of search results you have chosen not to win.

So we build the collection map from the query set first, and the menu falls out of it.

Where buyers leave a store
Still in the store Left at this step

Illustrative: the usual shape of a store funnel, not a measurement of yours. We record yours before launch.

Doubt shows up next to the button

How long will it take? What if it doesn't fit? Can I pay the way I want to?

Every buyer asks these, and the question is asked at the price, not on a policy page.

A store that answers them in the footer makes the buyer go looking. Many open another tab and buy from whoever answered first. Your returns line has to be accurate too, because the Australian Consumer Law gives buyers refund rights on faulty goods whatever your policy says.

We design the checkout on a phone first

Most store traffic is on a phone, and most abandoned carts are too.

Small targets, long forms and a surprise shipping cost at the last step are what empty them. So the cart and checkout are drawn for a thumb before anything else, because the store is only as good as its smallest screen.

When a theme is the right answer

If you're testing a product with a handful of lines, a well-chosen theme will carry you. We'll tell you straight.

Design starts paying when the catalogue grows past what a theme's menus can hold, or when you can already see buyers stalling on the product page and want to know why.

Starting a store or fixing one? We'll show you where the sales leak.

Questions

Store design questions, answered straight.

What you need to know before we start a conversation.

Not answered here? Ask us directly

Which platform do you design stores for?

Mostly Shopify and WooCommerce, and we're a Shopify Partner. We'll recommend the one that suits your catalogue, your team and your budget. The design work is the same either way: structure first, then templates.

Do you design every product page by hand?

We design 1 product template and a content model that every product fills. So your thousandth product looks as considered as your first, without costing the same.

How long does a store design take?

Most stores take 4 to 12 weeks from first call to launch. A refresh of the core templates sits at the short end. You get a dated schedule before you commit.

What does it cost?

You get a fixed quote with line items after a free 15-minute strategy call. Our brand and website package starts from $6,100 + GST. A store is quoted on its own scope, and the number of templates matters more than the number of products.

Will a new design hurt our product rankings?

It shouldn't, because URL handling is part of the scope. Every product and collection address is mapped and redirected where it changes. Nobody can honestly guarantee a ranking, and we won't either.

Can you work with our existing product photos?

Usually, yes. We design the image slots around the photos you have. Then we tell you plainly where a missing angle or a lifestyle shot would help a buyer decide.

Do you design stores for our industry?

Yes, if you sell online. Big brand or brand new, the collection research is done for your products and your buyers. Nothing is borrowed from another trade.
